GF&CO in collaboration with New Stage Theatre Company presents:
AFTER OTHELLO: The Moor The Merrier
Written & Directed by Gia Forakis
A DARK, COMEDIC TWIST ON A SHAKESPEAREAN TRAGEDY GETS ITS U.S. NEW YORK CITY PREMIERE THIS FALL
OCTOBER 24 - 27, 2024
ABOUT THE SHOW:
AFTER OTHELLO, is an original, dark comedy featuring the often-forgotten role of THE CLOWN from Shakespeare’s play, The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice.
AFTER OTHELLO follows the role of the currently unemployed and somewhat bitter CLOWN, as he takes us on a comical, absurd, and sometimes searing search to uncover the truth behind the motives and the murders in this brutal and controversial tragedy, while questioning our notions of honesty, jealousy, evil, and complicity.
AFTER OTHELLO is Written and Directed by Gia Forakis and features Hungarian Actor and GF&CO Founding Member, Adam Boncz.
GF&CO (Gia Forakis & Company) is a Brooklyn, NY-based, not-for-profit studio-lab and collective of professional theater artists founded in 2011 by Artistic Director, Gia Forakis. GF&CO is built upon the premise that the arts are where we encounter our humanity, nurture our civility, and fortify our connection to one another. www.GFandCO.org
